What "Installation" Actually Involves
A new heating system is more than swapping one box for another. We start with a heat loss survey — room by room, not a whole-house estimate — because that number decides everything else: the size of heat pump or boiler you need, whether your existing radiators are big enough, and whether the pipework can carry the flow rate the new system needs.
Where we're replacing an oil tank, storage heaters, or an ageing LPG boiler, we also plan around what has to be decommissioned and removed, and whether the electrical supply needs upgrading for a heat pump's compressor and immersion backup.
Most domestic jobs run two to four days on site. Larger renewable installs with a lot of pipework changes, or commercial jobs with plant room work, can run longer — we give you a specific timeframe in the written quote, not a vague estimate.

Survey
Heat loss calculation, radiator check, and a look at access — for the plant, the pipework route, and any scaffolding or delivery needs.
Written quote
System size, brand, what's included, and a realistic install date and duration.
Install
Old system decommissioned safely, new system fitted, pipework and controls wired in.
Commission & paperwork
System commissioned to the manufacturer's spec, MCS certificate issued where applicable, and a walkthrough of the controls.
