Exposed, Coastal, and Full of Holiday Lets
Dinas Cross sits on the A487 coast road, on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path near Cwm-yr-Eglwys and Pwllgwaelod beach — a mix of older cottages and newer coastal homes, a good number of which are run as holiday lets. It's a more open, exposed coastal position than somewhere like Lower Town, so wind and salt spray are the main things we design around when siting an outdoor heat pump unit: a sheltered wall or a wind-break location where the property allows it, with fixings and casings chosen to cope with the exposure.
The holiday-let side of Dinas Cross brings its own practical need: owners and property managers often want to turn heating up remotely ahead of a guest changeover and back down once a booking ends, rather than run the system at a constant temperature year-round. Vaillant and Samsung's app-based controls handle this well, and it's something we set up as standard on lets rather than an optional extra.
