How We Approach an ASHP Install
An air source heat pump pulls heat from outside air, even in cold weather, and uses it to heat water for your radiators, underfloor heating and hot water cylinder. It runs most efficiently at a lower flow temperature than a gas or oil boiler, which is why sizing and radiator checks matter more here than on a like-for-like boiler swap.
We fit Vaillant's aroTHERM range, Panasonic's Aquarea range and Samsung heat pumps. All three are solid units, but the right choice depends on your property, your hot water demand, and in some cases what parts and servicing support is easiest to access locally. Where a split system suits the property better than a monobloc, the refrigerant pipework is connected on site by our F-Gas certified engineers.
Being on the coast, outdoor unit siting needs a bit more thought here than inland: salt-laden air accelerates corrosion over time, so we favour more sheltered positions and corrosion-resistant fixings where the property allows it.
Our process
Survey to Commissioning
Heat loss survey
Room-by-room calculation, radiator check, and a look at siting options for the outdoor unit.
System design
Unit size, any radiator upgrades, cylinder choice, and electrical supply check.
Installation
Outdoor unit, indoor hydraulics, pipework and controls fitted and connected.
Commissioning
Flow temperature and weather compensation set correctly, MCS certificate issued.
